Founded in 2004
Reef-A-Palooza was started by the Southern California Marine Aquarium Society (SCMAS), a community of hobbyists passionate about reef-keeping. Initially, it was a small, local event designed to bring together members of the reef-keeping community, providing a space to exchange knowledge, trade corals, and purchase aquarium supplies.
Over time, Reef-A-Palooza gained popularity beyond the local scene due to its unique focus on coral reefs and marine aquariums. As the reef-keeping hobby expanded, so did the event, attracting larger numbers of vendors, exhibitors, and attendees each year. Today, Reef-A-Palooza is held annually in four key locations: Orlando, New York, California, and Texas.
